2021 Therapeutic Rec:

Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camp through Fairfax County. As many of you know, this camp is a fun, valuable experience for our young people. During a non-COVID year, the spaces fill up quickly. This year, with the camp honoring physical distancing, space is going to fill up even faster. So, registering ASAP is essential!

TRS SUMMER CAMP (For campers ages 13-22):

SUMMER TIME CALLS FOR FRIENDS, FUN, AND SUMMER CAMP! COME JOIN US AT TRS SUMMER CAMP 2021!

The summer will be packed full of special events, art activities, sensory play, games, sports, outdoor play, music activities and more.  All programming is designed to meet the different interests and abilities of the campers.  All camp sites are open to participants with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, physical disabilities, emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and/or attention deficit disorders. Each site will have a variety of staff to participant ratios available to meet the different needs of campers. Ratios range from 1:2 to 1:5 at each site*.

 

*Note: Participants who require a constant 1:1, may need more support than this camp structure can provide. If you are unsure if your son/daughter will be successful in the program, please call the main TRS office to discuss eligibility.

 

*New This Year* Therapeutic Recreation is dedicated to following the guidance of the Fairfax County Health Department regarding all health and safety measures pertaining to reducing the potential exposure and preventing the spread of COVID-19.

 

• Staff and campers will remain with a consistent “bubble” each day

• Campers and staff must wear masks throughout the day

• Daily health checks will be conducted for staff and campers

• Intensified cleaning and disinfecting practices will be in place

• Safe distancing measures will be implemented and some classrooms will operate at a reduced capacity

• Transportation will be limited this year and only available on an as needed basis to support campers with significant transportation barriers.  

We are dedicated to implementing a safe and fun camp experience and look forward to seeing our campers this summer!

TRS Summer Camp 2021 Weeks:

Week 1: June 28 - July 2

Week 2: July 6 - July 9 (NO CAMP July 5th)

Week 3: July 12 - July 16

Week 4: July 19 - July 23

Week 5: July 26 - July 30

Week 6: August 2 - August 5 (NO CAMP August 6th)

*Secondary School ESY dates/bell schedule runs parallel to TRS weeks 1-4, individuals will be unable to attend both programs during these weeks

Summer Camp Fees: is $80/week (2021 Fees. Camp fees are subject to change).  Fee variances and scholarships are available for those that qualify.

(NOTE: Early Morning Drop-off will not be available this summer).
